LUNCHEONS & PROGRAMS
Reservation Policies
Members on the calling list will be called
before each meeting. Reservations must be made or cancelled eight days before the luncheon
meeting, by noon on that Monday. To make
changes or cancellations, call Earlene Whorton at 269-944-1731. If you do not cancel your reservation eight days before the meeting, you are expected to pay the cost of the luncheon..
To make a reservation by e-mail for the
luncheon meeting, please sent an e-mail to info@marsp-bcc.org. In the e-mail, provide the names of those who will attend and the date of the luncheon. You will receive a confirmation by e-mail.

Program: Mosaic Executive Director, Gabrielle Engle, will feature a program on Mosaic and it's mission of transforming lives. She will further share the organization's recent relocation to a new site in Benton Harbor fostering an expanded thrift store and services. It is suggested to bring a small table item for sale for their thrift shop.

Program: Berrien County Parks, Jill Adams, Director of Berrien County Parks Department, will present an overview of seven park properties totaling over 640 acres. Properties include beaches on Lake Michigan, forests, wetlands and rivers. They include hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, disk golf, volleyball, birding and picnicking. These activities can help you "get away, right away" and enjoy the finest natural environments at Berrien County Parks.

Program: Join Dr. Loren Hamel, M.D., President, Corewell Health, for an engaging discussion on the latest facility investments, news and industry trends impacting health care locally and throughout the State of Michigan. He leads care delivery for three hospitals, over 60 outpatient locations, telehealth initiatives and approximately 500 independent, affiliated and employed physicians in Southwest Michigan. He joined Lakeland Health medical staff in 1983. An experienced family physician, Loren practiced medicine for 23 years at University Medical Specialties in Berrien Springs.
Bob Kucera, past MARSP president and current Area 22 Director, will participate in the meeting. Sandy Beiter will present insurance information and answer questions. The MARSP meeting materials will be available and the MARSP annual video will be shown. During the chapter's business meeting, a chapter treasurer will be elected.

Dorothy Hawks Scholarships: Dorothy Hawks Scholarships will be presented and recipients will be given an opportunity to speak.
Program: Michelle McCoskey has been the Director of Education at Fernwood Botanical Garden since 2021. She will present a showing of Fernwood's history, scenic gardens and services. She is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. Before joining the team at Fernwood, she operated an environmentally sustainable textile collective in Detroit, where she grew natural dye gardens and taught pubic workshops. Fernwood's mission is to enrich people's lives by awakening and deepening their appreciation of nature and possibility of harmony between people, plants, gardens and wildlife.
Vote to Amend Bylaws and Committee Descriptions: During the business meeting, members will be asked to approve amendments to the chapter bylaws and committee descriptions.
